Origin Coffee Roasting – Guatemala Finca Santa Sofia – 250g
R180.00
Description
Origin Coffee Roasting seem to have a knack for finding deliciously interesting Guatemalan coffees for us to try. While the country is known for producing high quality coffees, many of them are quite similar and straightforward with nutty and chocolatey notes. While there’s nothing wrong with nuts and chocolate, and you’ll find at least some of those flavours in this bean, we particularly love the other characteristics it has to offer.
It has a sweetness that, to our palates, was almost malty, but also reminiscent of caramel. The coffee has a very full body with nutty notes and a creamy mouth feel. There are also some subtle hints of stone fruit, particularly of the dark & dried varieties, with just that little bit of tanginess. It manages to be balanced while also being complex – the perfect coffee for that espresso or moka pot brew!
